About
Vondelpark is the breathing centre of Oud-Zuid: broad lawns, tree-lined cycles, and small bridges over still water. Sculptures dot the routes (including Picasso), locals jog the perimeter, and summer evenings fill the open-air theatre when programmes run. Bring a blanket, watch boats on the connecting canals, and use the park as a hinge between Rijksmuseum and Leidseplein without rushing—this is where the city slows down.
Hours & access
Open daily, roughly 24 hours for public paths (café hours vary). Open-air theatre: seasonal, typically May–Sep.
